Photo of a Pine Satyr Butterfly
Pine (or Allyn's) Satyr
Throughout America the only place this butterfly has appeared is in the Chiricahua Mountains, where it is widespread, and the Huachuca Mountains. The pine satyr prefers higher altitudes and can be seen during the summer in Rustler Park and other open wooded groves on the way up. Not nectar takers, they occasionally appear as low as dampened areas along Cave Creek or Turkey Creek.
